"Victory awaits all who knocks and enters."
Principal Tutor: Jim Bennett
Following a “mysterious illness in 1989 Jim Bennett began researching complementary healing techniques. In his journey of exploration he started studying Reiki in September 1997.Two years later he started offering Reiki classes to others. After attaining his Teacher level in 1999 he continues to draw Reiki educational experiences to himself, and these have gradually shape the way he practices and teaches Reiki. Jim’s Reiki teaching style comes from a blend of his teachings and experiences.
Barbara Mc Gregor, Beth Gray’s understudy taught his Reiki 1. Rev Beth Gray was the first western Reiki Master taught by Hawayo Takata, who was in turn taught by Captain Cuujirou Hayashi (1878-1940). He was one of 3 senior naval officers who studied with Usui – attending his dojo from May 1925 to O-Sensei Usui’s death in 1926. He took over Usui’s dojo and for some time continued to present the system as it was given to him.
His Reiki 2 teaching was from Heather Buglear who is from the William Lee Rand lineage
Reiki 3 and his Master/Teacher training were taught by Richard Rivard whose Canadian teachers are very close to the Takata and the Reiki Alliance lineages. Jim followed this with studying Usui Sensei’s original 1923 and 1925 structured spiritual methodology as taught by Dave King- this is known as Usui-Do(aka Usui-no-Michi) and Usui Teàte.
He is also trained in the blended URR Gakkai - modern Reiki system of Gendai Reiki Ho, its originator being Hiroshi Doi, a URR Gakkai member since 1993. He completed his Komyo-Ki Reiki Shinpiden (Teacher Degree) in 2006.
As a Chartered Member of the UK Institute of Occupational Health and Safety his teaching and coaching blends western and eastern philosophies. His research and development work involves incorporating Reiki into the business world. His core discipline is in Fire Engineering which includes Emergency Response and Business Continuity – his recent work involves the use of Reiki and Martial Art healing techniques for emergency response situations in remote locations.
He teaches how Reiki can be used in simple intuitive ways, or more complex formulated methods, depending on the preferences of the healer and the healing situation.

His role is enabling students to discover the joy in practicing and sharing Reiki
