Level 2 or Second Degree (Okuden in Japanese)
A 2-day training, usually over a weekend. Only those holding a Reiki 1 certificate are eligible. At least 3 months' practice is recommended between Reiki 1 and Reiki 2. For a small group of 2 or 3 people the second day is optional, provided they put aside that day for personal study. Holding a level 2 certificate allows you to practise as a Reiki Practitioner for the general public (although some professional bodies such as the Complementary Therapists' Association may require members to have level 3). The purpose of this level is to augment your Reiki skills with additional frequencies of energy, some old, some new. Also, there are some additional techniques that you can use in your treatments. In this class, you are attuned to and taught, the first 3 traditional symbols and 4 Western symbols.
This class contains a combination of information that I have received from the various teachers (all of diverse Reiki backgrounds) and is integrated into a process that you can adapt into your own Reiki practice. The class will cover the following subjects: Upon completing this class you may find that your Reiki energy seems to have increased in strength. As with the first level of Reiki, the attunement process may again start a balancing/cleansing cycle, in which the Reiki energy works through the chakras and helps the body adjust to the new vibratory rate. The results of this process differs from student to student. After the course students will be expected to complete a set of case studies (both hands-on treatments and distant healings) before receiving their Reiki 2 certificate. A full year of practice is recommended between Reiki 2 and Reiki 3.
